Methven Summer School Festival

As a volunteer member on the Methven Summer School Festival Committee my role was to design the visual collateral for the 2013 event. A new approach was taken to the brochure and I transferred the visual style to the website template which had been set up the year before by a local web agency.

 

To reduce the production cost and increase publications the double-sided brochure was laid out on an A2 page which was scored 6 times and folded to DL. Full colour was used throughout. The print expense dropped by $1000 but the quantity increased from 3000 to 5000.

 

In 2014 I became the Event Coordinator for the festival and I held this position for the 2015 festival too. My objective was to grow the vision of the committee and event, attract a younger demographic and to reflect a festival atmosphere. The role included all the design work, coordinating fundraising events, researching and assigning new courses, liasing with tutors, local businesses and the committee, coordination of all courses throughout the festival week in January, updating the contact database, exploring new and cost effective avenues for marketing and advertising.
